In this video she uses multiple different lighting and colour gel techniques to create a story of a strong woman walking out of a night club and sees her reflection. By using contrasting colours it draws more attention to the face as its half and half blue and pink which are darker tones to portray more a dramatic theme. The use of the mirror can be used in many different ways as it can be showing different angles of the face or showing the contrasting emotion that the model is feeling. Even though Lyndsay specialises in fashion photography she does an amazing job of making the hair and makeup match the storyline she has made up.
|
Lyndsay positions the model looking strong and confident as she likes to show them looking strong. She uses bold make up to carry on the theme of strong feminity throughout the shoot. She likes to present the woman in her shoots as how she sees herself.
Alder uses many different lights and at lots of different angles to capture the aspects of her face and other minor details that can get brought to light to change the attention of the picture. She adds colour gels on top of two lights which were contrasting colours to create the best effect.
|
She uses her DLSR camera to get the perfect shot and moves around while photographing so she can explore all the different angles. By her not using a tripod it will make sure each picture is different and nothing is the same.
Finally, Lyndsay used spray water on the mirror to add to the story of the picture. It is always the little details the make the picture better, by just adding water it will add little details all around. i do believ if she added water onto her it woukld of made it better.

In this video Lindsay uses multiple different elements of art in her shoot to create the best final outcomes. In the shoot she uses colour, tone and texture. The element of colour has been shown by them contrasting in the images which overall makes them stand out more. However, the element of tone was used to keep the contrasting colours not too out of place so the tones will make the colours flow into each other. Furthermore, the element of texture in her work is shown in the models facial features as the textures of the face can be made more obvious with editing and even just the position of the camera.
|
In this shoot she decided to paint the models nails as she thought it will match the themieng of the shoot better. The bold nails could contrast to the colours in the shoot to make the final look , look better.
Another technique she does is uses objects to create shadows in the lights as it brings more to the shoot instead of just coloured light.
|
In the shoot Lindsay pays a lot of attention to the textures in the models face and does not try to hide them but the embraces them and tries to show them more as it brings more elects to the shoot.
Finally, she uses coloured light from different angles around her face as it can make such a difference even though its contrasting colours it can show two completely different emotions.
|
Firstly , I opened PIXLR and started by cropping the image which will make the model and the lights centred. By doing this it makes my model the centre of focus.
Next, I changed the colour of the lighting and turned them from red and blue to a darker red and a purple which I thinks looks better as its more complementary. By making the image look complementary it makes the colours flow better.
|
Secondly, I brightened up the image which will make the colours brighter and the lighting on the models face show up more. I only adjusted the brightness slightly as I don't want to lose the darkness in the background.
Finally, the last thing I did was adjusted the curves of the image which will darken the image but not the model. By darkening the background it shows the contrast between the lighting on the model against the lighting on the background.

'I work with sewing, embroidery and drawing to explore the essence of signs in their physical manifestation. I take inspiration from my own personal experience and observation of how, in other cultures, bodies themselves are treated as living graphic symbols. '
Why this video?I chose this video as it gives a varied view of his work , however I also believe that the video gives a sense of understanding of his work as it truly shows a unique way to present his work as no artist has ever done this before. I believe his work is shown in a creepy and dark way as the fabric is somewhat of a mask hiding the images true identity.
Why this quote?I believe this quote truly matches the artists inspiration and thoughts when he is making this sort of art. This quote is basically explaining why he does this art and why it is done in a certain way which is crucial to know as it can help you understand the artist.

Who is he ?Maurizio was born in loano , Italy on the 8th of April 1969. He is an artist that mixes between photography and art. He decided to sew directly onto the photographs to give it more detail by enhancing some features of the face and under exposing some less important features. While his work was most famous he was living in London and was known as a famous Italian contemporary artist. However, he does not take his own images as they are so vintage he just adds fabric and other sewing materials on top of the photograph to add more detail and abstract art.
Why this artist? This artist is ideal for the subject of Portrait and identity as it is not just a normal portrait photo it is more detailed and has a lot more to it. This artist is different to the rest as Maurizio is not a photographer he is a artist who uses someone else photos and adapts them to this own style.

"I like money in its shredded state because it is stripped of value and power. Worthless, it becomes just so much green and white confetti. It is literally not worth the paper it's printed on." Why this artist?I have chosen this artist as she is environmentally friendly and she uses scraps and recycling to create her art pieces which would be a mix of media and textiles. Her main focus is sewing, all her materials come from thrift shops, flea markets and recycling centers which will later on better the planet.
Why this quote?I believe Lisa Kokin's quote is very inspirational as it speaks about how money is only paper and should not have such significance in our lives. She talks about how shredding money removes it from all its power which shows how down to earth she is and by her only using recycles plastics shows her passion to the earth.
|
Why this video? truly shows how she works with her fabric and it goes through all her different genres and all her techniques and how she connects all the old fabric and plastic together to create all her pieces. In this video it goes through a step by step of her whole process from picking her fabric to sewing them and piecing them together.

Why this artist?I have chosen this artist as he is not just a photographer he is also a director and directs lots of movies and has lots of work that stands out. In his work he focuses a lot on his models eyes and try's to make them stand out which makes me think about the theme. The theme of portraiture and identity is clearly shown in his work as eyes are the biggest part of people identity and in a lot of his photographs he covers the rest of the face in fabric but keeps the eyes brightened and staring at the camera.

Animation feels to me to be an extension or continuation of photography; it is yet another way to navigate through art and create new ways to interpret."
Why this artist?I have chosen this artist as he is a bit unusual and completely differs from other photographs I have looked at. He as a completely different theme and idea of photography he shows photography through special effects and light where's a lot of others just do a normal portrait photo. From his photos I can tell he has two completely different types of art , one of them is like this video where a lot is going on and its all colour and attracts the audience through colour. Whereas, the other type of his art makes you interested because of how unusual it is as it used like and effects to make lines and art on your face however, while doing this he also can use editing skills to add different thing onto the picture to make people think materials are coming out of the skin.
Why this quote?I have selected this quote as this truly shows his style of photography and how he uses animation to make his own art. Animation is a big part of his theme as it makes the audience more interested as people have not seen this type of photography or art before.
|
Why this video?I have chosen this video as it is long and is showcasing all his work in many weird ways. It showcases his work by using the dark images and putting colours and light effects over them to create more of a patterned look and tries and overlays them to make them bigger and flow better.

"Photography for me is not only to catch the moments lived with children is also a record of my own emotions, sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker."
Why this video?I have chosen this video as it flips through lots of her work in lots of different situations and lots of different ages which goes through their growth overtime. Another, reason why I have chosen this video is that its just under ten minutes which is good as it gives it enough time to show all the images without it dragging and people lose interest.

Why this artist?Magdalena is a self taught artist from Poland and over the years has developed her new and unique techniques. She was born in 1976 and started her interest in photography during her school years. She always showed a good interest in everything that she did in those lessons and was known to be very good at it. This is why I chose her as an artist , she was self taught and has done extremely well with her work. Berny is a artist that works with family's and especially children as she sees that they are "just coming into the world."
Why this quote?I have selected this quote as it truly shows the inspiration for her work and why she takes photos of young people who has not experienced life yet. It will show how innocent and pure children are and does photo shoots with them in nature which works with the idea of the children being young and natural.

In my opinion most important is creativity, having your own style and not copying. Be able to read the light however it is outside or in studio. Experiment a lot and know perfectly the technique which you are working.
Why this artist? His family members was his influence and his motif to start his career. He shows the most interest in beauty and fashion but making it more artistic which is his theme and how people identify his work. Furthermore, he is an award winning photographer which you can clearly see due to his outstanding presentation.
Why this quote?I have chosen this quote as it shows his individuality due to how he hates the ideas of copying or emulating his work as he wants to be unique and stand out and he definitely does. You can tell in his work he is an perfectionist as he will not stop until his work is perfect.
|
Why this video?I have chosen this video as it is similar but different, meaning that it is the same idea but a different background and model. His images in the photo are always clean and sharp which makes the model stand out as the colors are contrasting tones and colors.

” I don’t have favorites. I look at pictures democratically. To me they are all equal. ”
